Howard Middleton

Howard Middleton is a self-taught baker from Sheffield who first began baking as a child. He is passionate about being inclusive in his baking, creating food for the specific dietary needs of his mum and dad and the incredibly challenging birthday cake requests of his nieces.

As a contestant on the fourth series of the BBC's The Great British Bake Off, he immediately caught the public's attention with his first bake - a gluten-free passion fruit and coconut cake.

More recently, he has been demonstrating his creative approach to gluten-free baking at numerous food festivals and shows and teaching at Hartingtons artisan food school in Bakewell. His engaging personality and quirky sense of humour has made him a popular guest panellist on Bake Off's spin-off show, An Extra Slice, and a regular writer for the Great British Chefs website.

His first book, 'Delicious Gluten-Free Baking' was published in September 2015.
